Info This page is not for discussion. It’s just there for an overview over the misspelled stained-glass categories and category redirects. The frontpage can’t be used because of two(!) filters being active also in the own user namespace, therefore it’s here instead. It can be discussed elsewhere. Today is the 20th of July 2025, all links below are from that date. If they should be updated in the future, please add the actual date for the updates and perhaps let the old data stay for comparison). —176.1.8.185 09:12, 20 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Overview

[edit]

Category redirects

[edit]
  • There still exist 1805 category redirects with intitle:/Stained glass windows/ (not only at the beginning).
    • From those ones 32 are left, where there is a space before the word "Stained". The only reason that they aren’t deleted by now is that the target categories all have the same mistake (upper case after a dash) and therefore all 32 target categories have to be renamed. All other redirects without that mistake, but with space before "Stained" are deleted by now.
    • Other parts of these 1805 redirects are 973 redirects with intitle:/Stained glass windows in / (the target categories should all be windows in locations as cities, municipalities or countries) and
    • 604 redirects with intitle:/Stained glass windows of / (the target categories should be windows of churches or other buildings)
    • 118 redirects with intitle:/Stained glass windows with/ (mostly "with signature of [artist]")
    • 973 with "in" + 604 with "of" ≤ 1577 redirects + 118 with "with" ≤ 1695 + 32 with space before "Stained" ≤ 1727 (= 1725) redirects (there are two doubles in two of those searches), 80 other redirects have none of these forms, altogether 1805 categories
  • Then there were 5 Hungarian category redirects with intitle:/-stained glass windows/. But the target categories all have intitle:/-stained-glass windows/ instead which looks very weird. I don’t know, why users name categories that way, and I think they should all be renamed to titles like "Stained-glass windows of [building/church]" instead. That’s why those redirects now still exist.
  • That’s also the case for these two redirects, where the target categories should be renamed to "on stained-glass windows" instead of "in stained-glass windows".

Now some problem cases are left and without them, over 1700 other redirects with "Stained glass windows" at the beginning still have to be deleted.

  • In the last week, there were deleted more than 1000 redirects already, nearly 300 of those were only year categories, plus many decade and century categories (more than70, I think), plus over about 800/900(?) for intitle:/on stained glass window/. That goes faster than all those renames.

Categories to rename

[edit]

They still all have to be renamed, that’s much. Over 1800 misspelled category redirects and over 1600 misspelled categories left only for intitle:/Stained glass windows/.

  • The redirects with "stained-glass" without substantive behind (where "stained" is the adjective for "glass") should nearly all be deleted now (except some problem cases).
  • And there are about 80 categories left with "S/stained-glass" in the title (intitle:/stained-glass/i) and without other substantives (like window, artist, designer, maker, door, ceiling, panel or others) behind which also have to be renamed.
    • Of those ones, 39 having "(stained-glass)" in the title, are mostly in Great Britain and in these cases should have "(stained glass)" instead.
