As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits, and to have been active in the last thirty days. Patrollers and License reviewers don't have to request this flag.
I am involved with vectorising lots of historical insignia espescially of that belonging to Bengal. I want to request auto-patrol rights so I can overwrite SVG files with better quality SVGs. Many SVG files are not W3C valid or have obvious visual flaws which can be easily corrrected. I also recently hit 1000 edits on Wikimedia Commons and my for reference most the media I have uploaded are SVGs too. Thank you for your time and consideration! Hi, I already have Autopatrol rights for a long time on fr.wikipedia. I would like to obtain the same rights here, in order to improve files that contain errors by overwriting them with corrected files. Regards Qmmfqjopz (talk) 16:09, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have been around a long time and know pretty well what not to do. I encountered a situation today where there was a minor technical flaw in the way an svg image is rendered, which I can fix. I am not able to replace the flawed image myself, though, since I do not have AutoPatrol right. I'm therefore applying for it so that the next time this happens I can solve the problem directly. Thank you. Srleffler (talk) 06:00, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to update some files that the original uploaders have not updated themselves. (For example, files under Category:Expressway signposts in Fujian (or signposts for expressways in other provinces or regions of China).)
I edit and make tropical cyclone track maps, and having autopatrol would allow me to overwrite older files without waiting for my request to be answered. It would also help me to correct errors in placing templates and removing the duplicate headers on templates like Template:WPTC track map. Thank you. I am requesting Autopatrol rights on Wikimedia Commons. I have made over 1,400 edits, including uploading hundreds of documents. I face challenges with transferring and correcting documents, which Autopatrol access would help resolve. I am familiar with Commons policies. Thank you. I am requesting Autopatrol rights on Wikimedia Commons. I tried overwriting an SVG file I have improved a lot and was told I need these rights to do so. Thank you. Lars A (talk) 21:48, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Admin, I would like to request AWB access on Wikimedia Commons. I already have AWB access on English Wikipedia, where I have long used the tool in accordance with its usage guidelines. I am well-familiar with its functionalities, limitations, and edit review expectations. Recently, I had to perform mass tagging on files after nominating a batch for deletion. This required manually opening, editing, and saving dozens of files one by one, a process that could have been handled much more efficiently with AWB. Thank you for your consideration. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)08:36, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right.
I've requested quite a number of file renames since I began editing more on Commons, with only a few requests that have been rejected from memory. A lot of times these files have very vague titles that don't give information on what the image is showing, which is why I file these requests. If given filemover rights, I will continue my progress in renaming files as the process would be much more streamlined. Thank you. Surayeproject3 (talk) 12:58, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully, the POV disputes from English Wikipedia, involving numerous ANI cases due to the removal of one name for another, do not spread to Commons. Wlaak (talk) 17:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would to request renaming rights so I can help organise and maintain Category:Coldplay. I made many contributions related to the band on Wikipedia and I want to extend my efforts to Wikimedia as well. Thank you. GustavoCza (talk) 02:41, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You have too few rename requests [1]. But if you submit rename requests, we can assess your renaming skills, and the request can stay pending. Incalltalk11:15, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
License reviewers don't have to request this flag. If you also want temporary account IP viewer right please mention this in your request. A separate request is not needed.
Not done: Əkrəm's edit count is too low, and I do not have enough data to evaluate the requester's competency on Commons. Commons is more complex than Azwiki, so we need more information in order to make an accurate decision here. KadıMessage22:13, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kadı, would you mind giving me some suggestions on how to increase my edit count on this topic if i'm literally not allowed to edit the templates; or are we talking about just ordinary edit count here? /srs /genq əkrəm.12:59, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Əkrəm you can explore other areas to work on. If you solely want to work with templates, I suggest you make some edit requests at the template talk page, something you still haven't. Regarding the edit count, quality over quantity is always appreciated but a decent amount helps in examining experience and gaining trust with a user being granted a tool. Shaan SenguptaTalk11:41, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may only request this right if you have patroller or license reviewer right. If you do not have this right please make a request for one of these rights and mention that you also need temporary account IP viewer right in the request.
I usually review images and tag copyright violation media when detected. This flag will enable to handle temporary users when and if repeatedly uploading problematic media. Thank you. Agent007 (talk) 10:25, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
For a rough advise, do not seek this flag if you have not made about 500 useful edits on Wikimedia Commons unless you associate with any Wikimedia affiliate, or campagins such as Wiki Loves Earth
I'm working on Wiki Loves Africa Project for Sudan User Group Community and i need to have event organizer rights on Wikimedia Commons. We are orgnizaing Wiki Loves Sudan Campaign soon so i need the right to be ale to create the needed pages.
Habib M’henni I am requesting access to the Event Organizer right to enable scheduling of events and adding of users to events. I am Executive Director for Wikimedia Sudan. Thank you. Maram (talk) 22:29, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since 2022 I lead and participate in organizing of various campaigns (WLE, WLM, WSC etc.) in Central Asia. It's kind of holding me back to not to have opportunity to edit campaigns by myself. Thank you. Красныйwanna talk?07:19, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
